Some CAS with DCWV

Hi everyone!  Well, the time has come for me to do some serious cleaning of my craft area.  Yes I cleaned out before and found lots of stamp sets to sell, but this time I got SERIOUS, I cleaned out all my paper -including my SU! DSP and embellishments!  GASP.  Oh man, there is nothing harder than parting with the long retired Rebecca, Loves Me, Spring Flowers and all the Print Patterns from SU!.  Even though I haven't used them in YEARS, I just couldn't part with them, kwim?

I also collect, I mean bought and used, DCWV mat stacks.  I love them!  Their colors, patterns, and glittery goodness just makes me smile.  BUT, I have too many and alas, I am getting rid of them too.  BUT before I put them in the donation pile, I wanted to make 1 more card from each of them.  I chose recent layouts that were CAS and featured pattern paper.  Here is what I made last night:

From DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl:

From DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby boy:

From DCWV Garden Party:

From DCWV Luxury Stack:

Aren't these fun?  Lots of the things I am clearing out are barely used if at all (sad, I know).  I put some things for sale on this SCS Buy/Sell post.  Take a peek if you like.

Before I go, I wanted to mention that Rachel's store, Hope Stamps Eternal is having a 50% off all remaining supplies through tomorrow, May 31st.  The store is closing, so get the deals while you can!!

Other supplies used for these cards:
Stamps - Signature Greetings (PTI), Wishing You (Verve Stamps)
Ink - Black, Chocolate Chip and Soft Suede (SU!)
Paper - White and cream cardstock
Accessories - Taupe and Rose 1.5" silk ribbon, Prima flowers, Red Lippy, Pink and aqua rhinestones, Bliss pearls

May Guest Designer for Nina Brackett

Hi everyone!  I have fun news!  You may have caught from my Embellish Magazine blog hop post yesterday, that I was asked by Nina Brackett to be her May Guest Designer!  She released 2 wonderful stamp sets for Gina K Designs, Fine Furnishings and Fine Furnishings Additions.  Here they are!

I have a couple cards to share with you using these sets.

This first card uses the chair, side table and flower vase from Fine Furnishings.  I also made this for the Limelight Papercrafts challenge, which is a sketch challenge that you were to use "fuzz" on.  My fuzz comes from the felt flower which I used as a "pillow" for the chair!

I stamped the chair, table and vase on white and cut them out and popped them up.  See how the vase is colored?  I used my Stampin' Up markers to color the stamp.  I haven't done that technique in awhile, but that is one advantage when using red rubber!  The de-lightful paper is from Cosmo's new paper, DeLovely

This next card uses a sentiment from Fine Furnishings Additions.  I love the wide arrange of sentiments in this set.  Perfect for many occasions!  The sketch is from last week's FTL91 sketch.  I used the amazing Basic Grey Capella papers.  Sigh, so soft and delicate.  I pleated the white wrinkled ribbon on a strip of Score-tape.  I stamped the sentiment on one end of a Labels Eight nestie, sponged the edges and added some Latte Kaiser pearls.  The flower dies are from PTI with a small white sweet blossom from Zva Creative.
My last card uses the amazing chandelier image from Fine Furnishings.  Notice this image comes in 2 sizes in the stamp set?  Perfect scale for many designs.  I stamped the image in black and added some red and clear rhinestones to is.  The paper is from Pink Paislee, Bayberry Cottage -love the rich colors and patterns in this line -perfect for the regal chandelier image!  Again I used some wrinkled ribbon, this time I used 2 pieces and tied them together.  I used another white Sweet Blossom from Zva to set off the bow.

Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to check out all the amazing sets released by Gina K Designs last night!!

Embellish Magazine Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Embellish Magazine blog hop!!

Today, several of the designers who appeared in the Premier Issue have put together a blog hop that features paper craft projects using Red, Brown, Kraft, Turquoise colors AND using twine!

Both of my cards use sketches from last week challenges.  First up is a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch #69.  I used my favorite stamp set by Ippity Stamps, Where You should Be.  I stamped the blossom image in soft sky in the background and the sentiment in chocolate chip over the top.  The brown pattern paper is from Bella Blvd, the Man of the House collection.  I finished off the card with some Red Twill ribbon and Aqua button.

My next card uses the Fall To Layout sketch #90.  I used my MUCH neglected Stampin' Up sets, Little Pieces and Seeing Spots.  I stamped the images in dark chocolate and Hawaiian Shores.  You know, I am so used to using clear stamps, it was really weird using wood mounted stamps again!  That shows how far I have strayed from my "stamping beginnings".  Anyway, I added the red to card in the form of tiny flower rhinestones and button.

And my final card is a special card I made as this month's guest designer for Nina Brackett for Gina K. Designs!  She has released 2 wonderful stamp sets this month!  This card uses the set, Fine Furnishings Addition.

I stamped the chaise lounge in Hawaiian Shores ink (with the feet inked in Dark Chocolate) and cut it out.  The pillow is also stamped and cut out.  Isn't it the cutest?!?  I was super excited to find that OA's new paper, Fly a Kite has the EXACT colors of this challenge -I just love me some OA!!

Sooooo, hidden along this hop will be opportunities to win PRIZES!  Embellish Magazine is offering four prizes for 10 lucky winners!  The winners will be randomly selected from each of the blog hop participant blogs.  A comment left on each of the blog hop participant's web site will give you an entry to win one of the prizes, which include Lawn Fawn stamps, May Arts twine, Subscription to Embellish Magazine, and A New Design crinkly stained ribbon.  The contest will be open until Monday, 5/31 at 5pm EST.  Winners will be announced Tuesday, June 1!

Here is a list of everyone in the hop!  ENJOY!!

Verve's Project Parade -Sizzlin' Summer Fun

Hi everyone!  It's Project Parade time!  I posted my project on the Verve Blog yesterday.  Be sure to head on over there to check out all the amazing projects the Divas have made!  Leave some love and have a chance to win some Verve-alicious prizes!!

My project is a Summer Birthday project.  There is a little girl who lives down the block.  She is HAPPY, FUN, BRIGHT and a JOY to be around.  She loves COLOR and CANDY!  I made this card and candy bag ensemble for her.  Her birthday is in June and I know she will love it.

The card is made with the Happy Days set.  I stamped the circle wave in green, cut it out and popped it up on my circle panel.  I colored the hibiscus flowers with my copics in bright pinks to match the AMAZINGLY bright Cosmo Cricket DeLovely paper!  I added some tiny rhinestones and some silver cord for accents, but for the most part, I let the stamps and paper be the focus.

My tag also uses the Happy Days set.  She is always walking around with sunglasses announcing that she is COOL (she's only 5!).  I declare this stamp set was made for her!!  I decorated the tag with scraps left over from the card.  I love how just a tiny bit of paper at the bottom can make such a difference! P.S.  Aren't the Laffy Taffy candies a PERFECT match for the Cosmo papers?  Happy sigh...

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Simple wedding card

Hi everyone!  I have a quick card to share for this week's PaperPlay Challenge, which is Wedding Celebrations.  I am new to this challenge blog as it is in the UK, but Waltzingmouse Stamps is the sponsor, so I HAD to play along for a chance to win!

My card uses one of my favorite go-to sketches.  I just love cards using the Top Note die.  I haven't used my pins and beads for awhile and thought this card needed a little something in the bow.

I found this metal "love" word in the discount bin at Craft Warehouse for $1!!  I got 3 -LOL!  The paper is from Making Memories, their Wedding line from last year.  The cardstock and ribbon are PTI's Spring Rain.

Here is a close up of the pin detail (click to enlarge).  I just love playing around with my beads!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Card Deets:
Paper - Spring rain, white, Wedding "Silver Brocade" piece (Making Memories)
Accessories - adhesive backed metal word, Wedding Pins (Making Memories), 5/8" spring rain grosgrain ribbon (PTI), beads and silver spacers (craft supply), silver pearls (Michael's Inc.)

Shabby Tea Room challenge -sponsored by Stamp Simply Ribbon store

Hi everyone!  Today I have a set of Thank you tags for the current Shabby Tea Room challenge.  This week, Sharon's store, Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is SPONSORING the challenge!  She is offering up an AMAZING prize package for one lucky winner!!  What is it you ask?  A Stamp Simply Thrift Shop Kit, valued at $36!!  Here is the Shabby Tea Room's challenge inspiration picture.  Isn't it BEAUTIFUL?!?

This amazing picture inspired me to use October Afternoon, Ducks In a Row pattern paper and a sentiment from my new set, Everyday Greetings to make a set of thank you tags!!  I love the sentiments in this stamp set.  They are THICK.  Kwim?  By thick I mean, not thin letter font and that gives it a more cute and fun feel to it.  AND it's easy to read when stamped on pattern paper.

The tags were made with my Labels Four Nesties with the bottom and sides trimmed off.  Each tag uses polka dotted paper, but have different embellies and ribbon on them.

All papers, Nestabilities, ribbons and string can be found at Sharon's Store.

My first tag uses the 3/8" pink velvet ribbon, 1/4" cream silk ribbon and the "thank you" was punched out from the Alphabet paper in the pack accented by 3 small green rhinestones.
This next tag uses the same 3/8" velvet ribbon and dotted paper.  I added some string around the top instead of silk ribbon, used a glittered chipboard flower (Melissa Frances) and layered it with a die cut flower with a button top!
My last tag uses a different piece of dotted paper, with some Hawaiian Shores cardstock accents.  The flower bloom is made from the Blossom Nesties and a Sweet blossom flower from Zva Creative.
Hey, several of SSRS DT have also played along!!  Here is a list, check them out and see the fabulous creations they were inspired to make.

Kitchen/Driveway Remodel update:
The kitchen remodel is moving right along -kinda.  I never realized just HOW LONG each and every step takes.  Yeah, I picked out my flooring, quartz countertop, designed the new layout and purchased my cabinets.  That was a huge step.  Now I am working on contractor bids for all the work.  Taking FOREVER!  Why does it take almost 2 weeks and 3 phone calls to get a bid?  Don't they WANT the money?  Anyway, here are some timelines that are in no way etched in stone:
-June 10th demo begins on our driveway, the left side of our garage floor and our walkway
-June 14th construction of the new driveway, garage and walkway
-July 4th weekend, demo on our kitchen (we are doing this ourselves to save money)
-July 6th contractor begins work of electrical, plumbing, wall removal, patchwork, etc begins
-July 9th or 12th cabinets install begins
-July 14th flooring installed
-July 22nd countertop installation

Paper plates, bbque, and doing dishes in the bathtub for a month, HERE I COME!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!  Stay tuned on Wednesday, I have a special blog hop post and it's MY day to post on Verve's Project Parade!!

Card Patterns #65 Guest Designer

Hi everyone!  Did anyone see this post?  My card was selected as the weekly winner for the Card Patterns #63 sketch!  That means I get to be the Guest Sample maker this week!

Here is this week's sketch #65:

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous making this card.  I knew it would be featured on the Card Patterns blog with TONS of viewers and I wanted to make sure it was worthy!  So after a day of panicking and 3 failed cards, I went back to one of my current favorite cards and CASED it!  I used the same papers from Pink Paislee, 365 Degrees and stamp set, One Person from Verve.

The 4 corner elements to the sketch threw me a bit.  All I could see was BUTTONS and didn't want to go "cutsie" with my card.  So, I used some small brown pearls from Zva Creative's Round Pearl Wheel.  To make them more balanced, I used the same pearls on the smaller panel.  See my fancy combo stitching of zig-zag and straight?  I love how it turned out -never mind the THREE PANELS that turned out to be "practice" -LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!

OHHHHHHH!  Before I go, I wanted to mention that the winner of my little "goodies giveaway" never contacted me, so I have chosen another winner!

A couple sketch challenges

Hi everyone!  I have a couple sketch challenge cards to share today.

First up is my co-Verve Diva, Jen's SFYTT sketch.  This one really called to me and I just HAD to use my new Ippity Stamp set, The Simple Things.  HAVE you seen the new Ippity sets yet? Super duper cute, you can check them all out here.  I stamped the flower stem in Pink Pirouette, it's hard to see in this picture, but the petals on this bloom are BUTTERFLIES!  WHAT?  How cute is that?  My friend, Heather Rolin designed this set and I am so in love!

The paper is Gossamer by Memory Box.  I got into a kick using this paper like crazy about a month ago, and then I LOST my pack.  Yep, couldn't find it to save my life.  Sigh...I swear one brave day I will show you all a picture of my stamping area.  Here are pics when I first remodeled my area, needless to say it DOES NOT look like this now.  LOL!

This next sketch is for the current Go-To Gals Sketch challenge.  This sketch really caught my eye with all the circles.  I wanted to make something simple for a Father's Day card.  The pattern paper is Man of the House collection from Bella Blvd.  I love the fun patterns all done with a masculine feel and colors.  The sentiment is from Verve's Father Figure set.

For a bit of interest, I added a brad and popped up on dimensions 2 of the 8 circles and the sentiment panel.  I really love how this turned out.  This really was quick and easy AND a great way to use up scraps!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

P.S. There is still time today to leave me a comment to be entered into my Ippity Release Blog Candy!!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #59

Hi everyone!  Today is Sunday and that means it's time for another FABULOUS Cupcake Inspiration challenge from Hope Stamps Eternal!  Check out these beautiful elegant cupcakes!  Seriously.  Stunning.

My card really doesn't have anything to do with them, I guess I wasn't in a "pink" mood -LOL!

I used Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety papers.  I have had these for awhile and I don't think I have ever used them!  In fact, Cosmo has already come out with their NEW line since then - Delovely!  LOL!  Back to Garden Variety, they are a perfect match for the Tangerine Tango cs and Martha Stewart's persimmon seam binding ribbon.

I pieced the balloon with pattern paper, outlined the clouds with some Copic markers and added a couple light blue pearls from the Zva pearl round wheel.  The sentiment is from Verve's Dare to Be.

The layout is from this week's Card Pattern 64 sketch and my card is also for Verve's Up Up and Away: Ready Set Stamp challenge.  The challenge is to use the stamp set Up Up & Away.  You can check out the link for all the challenge details.

Important Notice:
