Gina K December release inspiration blog hop: Day 1

Hi everyone!  Hi everyone!!  Welcome to Day 1 of the Gina K Designs December Release Inspiration Blog hop!  Today we are spotlighting the sets, Stately Flowers 2 and Mountain Wilderness, both illustrated by Theresa Momber and Melanie Muenchinger respectively.

First up is a card using Mountain Wilderness illustrated by Theresa.  This set is perfect for making cards for the men in your life.  My dad is an outdoors man big time and I can see using this set for his cards all year round. This card is also for the SCS CAS150 challenge, to make a card with a "window" element on it.
And here is the inside.  I really love the vertical greetings in this set.  They are unusual and give different options.
Next, is my card using Stately Flowers 2 illustrated by Melanie.  This is the second in a series of stamp sets profiling all the states and their official flowers.  This set includes Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky and Alabama.  My card uses the Missouri State Hawthorn lightly colored with copics.  I haven't had a chance to use the Spellbinders Blossom Four Nestabilities, and I think the shape compliments this image nicely, don't you?  The strip of pattern paper is from Basic Grey, Picadilly 6x6 pad, it matches the Soft Sand cardstock I used for the base.
You know it's funny, I made these 2 cards days apart and didn't realize until typing this that they would be posted on the same day.  They turned out very similar.  Weird huh?  (well, to me anyway, lol!!)

Anyway, for even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below.  Make sure you leave a comment here and on each of their blogs because Gina is going to draw two randomly chosen winners from all of the blog comments, and each will receive a fabulous grab bag of stamps!  Gina will announce the winners on her blog tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!  I will leave you with a close up picture.  Be sure to come back Monday when we showcase 2 more sets!!

FTL171 A set of quick Christmas cards

Hi everyone!  I have a quick post for today.  Isn't this time of year CRAZY BUSY?!?  Anyhoo, I am dreadfully behind with my Christmas cards.  So I took the Fall To Layout sketch 171 and made several flat, easy to mail cards.

I will admit that I send out the more elaborate and embellished cards to my close friends and family, but there are always that list of about 10 people who you send cards to and get the flatter ones?  Kwim?  Distant relatives?  Anyway, these cards will be for them.

To make things go faster, all the cards use the same pattern paper pad from My Mind's Eye, the 12 Days of Christmas.  1/2 of the cards use the JustRite Stamp set, O Christmas Tree (which is on sale for $11.21).  This set coordinates with Spellbinders Nested Pennants die sets!  I added ribbons to most of them, except the 2 masculine cards, where I used strips of brown cardstock instead (I think my Uncles will appreciate the lack of ribbon, lol).  So here is a pic of the 6 cards I made last night.
Here is a close up of the 2 masculine cards I made.  The little snowflakes on the top panel is also a stamp from the O Christmas Tree set, I added a drop of Stickles to the center.

Hey, see the glittery reindeer?  It was made with something new and fun!  Zoom Creative Glitterfast sheets.  Yep, this is a new product that has a MESS FREE glitter sheets.  They are really cool and easy to work with.  What you do is stick the glitter sheet to the adhesive shapes, rub it on and peel it off.  I got these shapes from the Greeting Card kit. You can also get plain sheets and die cut them in any shape you want!  Sa-weet!

Here are the other cards from the set.

This last one on the left used all the paper scraps from making the other cards.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
Most supplies used on these can be found at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Gina K Nature's Greetings blog hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to another Gina K. Design Team blog hop. Today we are sharing cards and projects using the gorgeous Nature's Greetings set. If you came from the fabulous Lee Murphy's blog, you're at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV where you will find a list of everyone participating in today's hop.
My card uses the butterfly image.  I embossed it in black and colored it in with copic markers.  The detailing in this butterfly is stunning.  AND I love the sentiments that come in this set.  You will get lots of mileage with this set.  See the embossing in the background?  That is the new Spellbinders Grand Impressabilities Sea Star template and it's super pretty.

Head on over to Suzanne's Blog to see what she's sharing with you today!  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop.
Card Deets:
Stamps - Nature's Greetings (GKD)

Botanical Butterflies

Hi everyone!  I have card using the new JustRite Stamps set, Botanical Butterflies to share with you today.  I love the beautiful images in this set and isn't it great the JR is now making clear stamps too?  You can find this and all the JustRite stamps at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

This card uses some of my favy Six By Six "Everyday Flair" 6x6 pad.  Sigh, My Mind's Eye makes me super happy.  The flower is from the Prima Flower Market Alla-Prima package and is a perfect match to this paper.
To make it easier to stamp and die cut the circle frame, I cut the stamp apart.  Yes, I have shown you all that it is easy to cut apart rubber stamps, but it is also easy to do with the acrylic stamps.  Just start the initial cut with your exacto knife and then get in there with some sharp slender snips (I use Tim Holtz scissors).  It is easy to put back together on your stamping block if you want to stamp them together.
If you are like me, and follow this blog with Google Reader, you probably haven't noticed that my blog posts are few and far between lately.  I am battling with some dental issues and what little spare time I have left goes to my family and some behind the scenes Spellbinders projects.  So, for the next month or so, I won't likely post more than once a week.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Card Deets:
Stamps - Botanical Butterflies (JustRite Stampers)
Ink - Memento Black Tuxedo
Paper - white and yellow cardstock, My Mind's Eye Six by Six pad
Accessories - Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two, Standard Circles LG and Small and Classi Scalloped Circles LG, Burlap string and satin edged grosgrain ribbon, stickles, small rhinestones, Prima Flower Market Alla-Prima, copic markers

Gina K November release inspiration blog hop: Day 2

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to Day 2 of the Gina K Designs November Release Inspiration Blog hop!  Today we are spotlighting the sets, Dogwood and Butterfly illustrated by Theresa Momber and Label Borders illustrated by Tami Mayberry. Several of the DT are also showing samples for the Friends are Flowers Duo.

First up is my card using Dogwood and Butterfly.  I just love the flowers and butterflies in this set!  I did something different with this one.  I stamped the flowers on the paper directly and colored them in.  No Spellbinder dies (gasp), no cutting them out -just some simple stamping and I love how it turned out!
Next, is my card using Label Borders.  This set has 4 decorated label images with lots of great sentiments to go in them.  They also coordinate with the set, All Occasion Tags.  I couldn't decide if I was making a birthday or a wedding card, so I made something that could be either!  I love the starkness of the red, white and black elements.  I made the flower from the Spellbinders Spiral Blossoms One die out of pattern paper.  Super pretty IRL.  Once again I used Christmas paper for a non-Christmas card.  This paper is Echo Park, Dots and Stripes the "Christmas" Collection.  My layout was based on an older Mojo Monday sketch.
And lastly here is my card using the Friends are flowers Duo.  I was a bit confused on what kind of flower this was, but I took a shot at coloring it pink.  Can't go wrong with a pink flower, right? LOL!
For even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below.  Make sure you leave a comment here and on each of their blogs because Gina is going to draw two randomly chosen winners from all of the blog comments, and each will receive a fabulous grab bag of stamps!  Gina will announce the winners on her blog tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!  I'll leave you with some close up pictures.
